Résumé
In previous research, a novel cryogenic CO2 capture system based on Stirling coolers was outlined. As an alternative for existing CO2 mitigation techniques, the developed cryogenic approach has potential. However, it should be noted that sensible and latent heat associated with the separated streams (such as condensate water, residual gas and captured CO2) is substantial. Therefore, heat integration of the developed cryogenic CO2 gas separation process is proposed to further reduce the total energy input. In detail, the latent heat of condensate water, the sensible heat of residual gas and CO2 product is recovered by heat exchanger networks. In order to evaluate the capture performance, the cryogenic CO2 process with and without heat integration is simulated by commercial software Aspen Plus. The results indicate that the energy requirement of the proposed system with heat integration units can be decreased by 88.06 MW over a total of 195.29 MW, when applying the process to the flue gases of a typical 600 MW coal power plant.
