Protocoles d'inspection de l’intégrité mécanique des systèmes frigorifiques à l’ammoniac.

Mechanical integrity inspection protocols for ammonia refrigeration systems.

Résumé

In the UK, pressure systems integrity inspection examinations are mostly carried out to the requirements of the Pressure System Safety Regulation (PSSR), which is to protect against dangers created by the release of significant stored energy caused by system failure. The inspection regime only focuses on the vessels and their supporting frames. In the UK, the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) legislation compliance is mostly overlooked. This regulation requires the inspection of all ammonia equipment to be carried out to reduce the likelihood of unintended or premature release of ammonia and oil. There is a further requirement to reduce the likelihood of releases that may result in an unintended explosion. This results in further inspections having to be carried out on non-vessel items of equipment which include pipework, pipework supports, valves, condensers and air evaporators. A standard set of protocols have been developed that combine both the inspection requirements for compliance to the PSSR and PUWER legislation to ensure that the level of inspection is adequate whilst at the same time ensuring risk of an ammonia release is minimised.
