Résumé
The present paper shows the results of the literature survey aimed to collect information on how indoor environmental quality (IEQ) is assessed by employees in office buildings certified by green building certification schemes. Articles published in peer – reviewed journals and in conference proceedings were identified using the existing databases such as Web of Science and PubMed; their reference lists were screened too, to search for potentially missing publications. The following relevant information was extracted for the present work: (1) information on currently existing green building certification schemes; (2) human responses in certified buildings compared with buildings w/o certification (if possible); (3) impact of certified buildings on absenteeism, motivation to work and productivity; and (4) impact of other building features on human responses in certified buildings. The collected data suggest that human productivity is higher in green buildings compared with conventional buildings. However this association is very weak and limited. There are also user complaints in green buildings and include problems with acoustics, thermal comfort and lighting which commonly are worse than in the conventional buildings.
