Refrigerated transport of deep frozen food: problems with the insulating materials after the international ban of the HCFCs.
Auteurs : PANOZZO G., CORTELLA G.
Résumé
The insulating materials used for the manufacture of refrigerated vehicles are expanded with particular blowing agents. Such substances have been banned because they are dangerous for their ozone depletion potential and for their contribution to the greenhouse effect. The replacements show a higher thermal conductivity, and consequently, the thermal insulation of the refrigerated vehicles has worsened in the last years, with consequences also on the food safety and quality. This paper details the problem and the state of the art in the field, and indicates some possible topics to investigate in the near future to find a viable solution.
