Résumé

The workshop EUROFREEZE brought together key experts from academia, industry and business across Europe for presentation and discussion of recent developments and trends in the food freezing equipment as well as in the production, storage, transport, distribution and retail of frozen products. In addition, EUROFREEZE serves as a platform for identification and prioritisation of further EU research needs in the concerned area, with regard to the launch of new ambitious initiatives to strengthen the overall technology level, competitiveness, sustainability, traceability and consumer friendliness of the European food refrigeration sector, refrigerated supply chains and associated logistics.
After promoting the event via the channels of the supporting international organisations (IIR, IARW / WFLO, FLAIR-FLOW 4 and IAR), the planned three-day workshop “EUROFREEZE: Individual Quick Freezing of Foods” was held in Sofia (Bulgaria) on 13-15 January 2005.
