Refroidissement basé sur le nombre d'occupants employant des systèmes multisplit dans un espace de bureaux "open space".

Occupancy based cooling using multi-split systems in an open office space.

Résumé

Open offices with cubicles are very common in commercial buildings. While this type of layout is a great use of space, efficient air conditioning in an open space is challenging especially when the building is only partially occupied. If these open spaces are divided into smaller 'open' zones controlled based on occupancy, it could result in more energy efficient air-conditioning methods. In this study, a multi-split indoor unit was investigated for its ability to localize thermal control in an open zone. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models were developed then experimentally tested to determine the relationship between an open zone and its surroundings. The results predicted a localized airflow and temperature control is possible in an open zone and such zone could provide significant energy benefits.
