Computer simulation of the indoor environments with cooling and heating systems: the great hall in the Inchon International Airport Terminal.

Résumé

The Inchon International Airport, located in Korea, is now under construction. The indoor environment of the passenger terminal will be controlled to save energy as well as to maintain a comfortable environment. The ceiling height of the great hall is 39.2 m and extends to levels 3 and 4. CFD is used to simulate even distribution of factors affecting the indoor environment including temperature, airflow, and CO2 concentration. Stratification (temperatures) is particularly studied.
