Synthèse accrue de l'éthylène chez l'oeillet entreposé au froid.

Enhanced ethylene synthesis in cold stored carnation flowers.

Résumé

Storage of carnations at 4 °C resulted in the accumulation of N-malonyl-1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (MACC) in the petals, indicating a certain activity of the enzyme ACC-synthase during cold storage, and a concomitant increase in the activity of ACC-oxidase. The senescence of carnations following removal from cold storage (for 5, 7 or 9 weeks) occurred earlier with higher peak of ethylene production as compared to flowers which have not been stored at low temperature.
