Résumé

The KSTAR device has various kinds of the cooling objects. The superconducting coils, magnet structure, gravity support and superconducting bus lines are cooled by forced flow at 4.5 K supercritical helium, the current leads and in-vessel cryopump by liquid helium and thermal shields by gas helium. The helium refrigerator system and cooling schemes to cool the various cooling components of the KSTAR device have been designed on the basis of the long pulse upgraded operation scenario. The equivalent cooling capacity of the helium refrigerator estimated about 9 kW at 4.5 K isothermal when the cold mass and heat loads on each object are considered. The main feature of the KSTAR cryogenic system is a cryogenic circulation system using the cryocirculator and thermal damper to moderate the pulsed heat load of the SC magnet system. The operating scenario of the cryogenic system such as a cool-down, a normal operation, an abnormal operation and warm-up, have been discussed.
