Système de refroidissement à cycle Stirling pour applications frigorifiques sans CFC.

Stirling cycle cooling systems for non-CFC refrigeration applications.

Résumé

Attempts have been made by the investigators to revive the Stirling cycle as a refrigeration device. The best overall performance achieved so far is 35% of Carnot. With continued development it is expected that at least 40% of Carnot is easily within reach and greater than 50% may also be attained. In addition to this, the free-piston linear motor configuration lends itself to continuous modulation by altering the input voltage. Lift modulation from zero to 112% has been reported. This paper addresses the potential of the Stirling cycle coolers as a replacement for the currently used vapour compression coolers and presents a review of these developments and outlines the scope for the future.
