Résumé

In this work, cyclic analysis has been utilized for simulation of two-stage miniature Stirling cryocooler. In cyclic analysis the cycle is divided into equal numbers of intervals. Pressure and volume variation for each interval are calculated. These pressure and volumes are then utilized for calculating the ideal refrigerating effect and the power required for the cycle. Cyclic analysis is followed by loss analysis where various losses are calculated so as to determine the realistic performance of the system. Various losses such as regenerator loss, conduction loss, pumping loss, shuttle loss, PV loss etc are calculated and subtracted from the ideal refrigerating effect. Pressure drop in connecting tube, regenerator stage I and II and mechanical losses are added to the ideal power so as to get actual power. A two-stage Stirling cryocooler was designed using cyclic analysis for a cooling capacity of 2 W at 100 K at stage I and 0.5 W at 50 K at stage II. Based on the design, an opposed piston linear compressor has been developed along with a two-stage displacer. Preliminary results of this cooler are presented in this paper.
