Systèmes frigorifiques commerciaux monoblocs : mûrs pour économiser de l'énergie.

Packaged commercial refrigeration equipment: 'low-hanging fruit' for achieving energy savings.

Auteurs : NADEL S.

Résumé

In the US commercial sector, packaged systems account for the majority of refrigeration energy use, and the efficiency of these systems improved only marginally in the 1990s. Fortunately, recent work by many researchers, manufacturers, and energy efficiency programme administrators has shown that substantial cost-effective energy savings are available for this equipment including refrigerated vending machines, reach-in refrigerators and freezers, ice-makers, and beverage merchandisers. This paper summarizes recent research and programme results from the US that show that the energy use of many types of packaged refrigeration equipment can be reduced by about 50%, at low incremental cost. In several cases, this new equipment is now on the market. Specific sections in the paper summarize information on the four types of equipment noted above, including information on the technical opportunities and programs that are spurring demand for more efficient equipment.
