Résumé

This report has been prepared by the CCSP and the Subcommittee on Global Change Research, Department of Commerce, NOAA's National Climatic Data Center. It provides a synthesis and integration of the current knowledge of the stratospheric ozone layer, ozone-depleting substances, and ultraviolet radiation reaching the Earth's surface. Extract from the table of contents: current trends, mixing ratios, and emissions of ozone-depleting substances and their substitutes; ozone and UV observations; how do climate change and stratospheric ozone loss interact? the future and recovery; implications for the United States. In the appendix: twenty questions and answers about the ozone layer: 2006 update. This report can be downloaded from: www.climatescience.gov/Library/sap/sap2-4/final-report.
