Résumé

An analytical model was developed to help determine cryosurgery-planning parameters, as well as what can and cannot be accomplished with cryosurgery. The temperature-dependent field and the spread of the freezing front were measured in animal tests, using temperature and ultra-sound measurements. Heat transfer between applicator and tissue, and within living tissue per volume produced heat were determined. The model was precise to 15%.
