Vitesses de circulation optimales dans les systèmes indirects.

Optimum circulation rates in indirect systems.

Auteurs : GRANRYD E.

Résumé

Minimum refrigerant charge often implies that indirect systems are used. Most such systems use a one-phase secondary coolant, which is pumped through the heat exchangers. Pumps can - if not carefully dimensioned - increase the total energy demand of the system considerably. It is shown that, on the evaporator side, there exist one flow rate that will result in maximum net cooling capacity of the system, and another (smaller) to achieve maximum net COP - and to save energy the latter should be used. Simple relations are given for optimum "pump power ratio" defined as the power to operate pumps in relation to the capacity of the heat exchanger.
