This book assesses the potential energy savings and carbon reductions to be achieved through technical improvements to appliances. It describes in detail the electricity consumed in IEA member countries by each residential end-use. It analyses the policy options available to stimulate greater manufacture and use of more efficient appliances and suggests ways to strengthen existing application-efficiency programmes.
