These proceedings contain 107 papers of this International Conference, organised by the IEA Greenhouse Gas Research and Development Programme, which was held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, May 26-29, 1997. It covers the following key areas: key note presentations; international initiatives; enhancing sinks and stores; maximising joint benefits; improved energy technology (i.e. advanced refrigeration and heat pump technologies; biomass energy; elimination of greenhouse gases from coal mine ventilation air: catalytic technology; solar-assisted hydrogen production from natural gas with low CO2 emissions; renewable energy technologies; low temperature waste heat recovery and potential for solar thermal energy in process industries); Asian development bank; transport; transmission and end use. Some of the papers will be abstracted in a future issue of the IIR Bulletin.
