Résumé

There are a number of reasons why an existing refrigeration system should be changed if cabinets are to be equipped with doors. The main reasons for doors are energy efficiency and product quality. By the use of doors the temperature in the cabinet will become more even and the control of the product quality easier. If the potential to lower the energy should be fully utilized the existing system must be customized for the lower cooling demand. The first need is to study all the other cabinets and rooms in the same system. The worst component will be the one determining the need for low evaporation pressure. With a control connection between the central machine room and the individual cabinet it is possible to introduce a floating evaporation pressure. With doors, the compressor system will firstly lose 30-50% of the demand and secondly by being able to move the evaporating pressure 6-7°C higher making the compressors about 30% larger. This makes it imperative to introduce good part load efficiency. An existing system for dairy, fruit and vegetables is studied. The main aim is to put doors on all dairy display cabinets in the system and the chilled rooms will get more fan coil area to make it possible to operate with the indirect cooling system at -1°C out from the central chillers. At the same time floating condensing pressure is introduced by speed control on the fans in the dry cooler.
