Résumé

This paper presents the main mechanisms occurring on the Earth that determine the climate and its eventual changes (water cycle, CO2 cycle, ocean streams, forests, radiation, and so on). Main research in the field of climate or sediment carrots conducted in the South Pole, Greenland or in deep oceans, are presented. The paper constitutes a well designed frame allowing global comprehension of the climate phenomenon.
