Résumé

Storage at 13 deg C for 1 week induced yellowing and flower bud abscission, but floret life-span was longer than for flowers stored at 15 deg C. Storage at 11 or 9 deg C not only caused bud abscission, but also induced abnormalities in the florets, such as greening of the sepals, declination of florets and loss of normal orientation. Storage at 7 or 5 deg C caused further defects. Flowers that were pulsed with silver thiosulfate after harvest then stored at 11 deg C in sucrose + 8-hydroxyquinoline sulfate solution showed reduced yellowing and bud abscission, but no improvement on bud opening. The same treatment doubled the vase life of flowers that were stored at 20 deg C.
