Résumé

The control parameters influencing the performance of a CO2-based thermal network connecting decentralized heat pumps for the heating and cooling of buildings are investigated. The parameters under investigation include compressor discharge and suction pressures, CO2 loop pressure, and CO2 mass flow rate. We employ a model to simulate the system and evaluate the impact of these control parameters on key performance metrics—specifically, efficiency and energy consumption. The efficacy of the system is examined through a series of simulation studies conducted in cooling mode on a building with three local heat pumps. For each discharge pressure, the performance of the system for different loop pressures and CO2 mass flow rates is examined. The results show that for each loop pressure, there is an optimal mass flow rate at which the system operates most efficiently. Additionally, for each discharge pressure, there is a global optimum value with respect to specific loop pressure and a specific mass flow.
