Résumé

Two-phase flow mal-distribution in inlet header of the parallel flow evaporator can result in performance degradation, partial frosting and problems on comfortableness. Nitrogen and water are used as a working fluid for the experimental investigation of two-phase flow distribution in parallel flow evaporator samples. The evaporator sample is composed of one horizontal round inlet header and dozens of vertical flat tubes. The headers are classified into three types: headers with external distributors, headers with internal distributing pipe and headers without flow distribution control structures. The flow pattern in the header inlet is annular flow. Compared to other two types; the header with an outside distributor can achieve more uniform liquid distribution; and the distribution uniformity is almost stable while the mass flux and quality is changed. During actual application, the upward flow can gain better distribution uniformity.
