Résumé

In this study, the performance of a CO2 heat pump system applied for a hot water supply machine was experimentally investigated at various refrigerant charging conditions to clarify the effect of internal heat exchanger on the system performance. All experiments were conducted at the constant heating capacity and refrigerant superheat condition by adjusting the compressor frequency and the pulse of electronic expansion valve. Experimental results show that increasing the refrigerant charge will increase the discharge pressure of the compressor and reduce the refrigerant outlet temperature in the gas cooler. There exists an optimum refrigerant charge where the heating COP reaches its maximum value. The heat transfer rate and effectiveness of internal heat exchanger decrease as the refrigerant charge increases and increase as the internal heat exchanger length increases. In this study, an improvement of 5.1% for the maximum heating COP was obtained by adopting an internal heat exchanger.
