Résumé

Ice-on-coil thermal storage tanks are widely used in ice thermal storage air-conditioning systems, in which glycol water is usually used as the cooling medium. However, glycol water has negative effects on the long-term stability of the traditional metal ice-on-coil due to its corrosiveness. The paper proposes to use a kind of novel conductive plastics instead of traditional metals as a tube material. In order to testify the feasibility of conductive plastic ice-on-coil, an experimental apparatus is built to study its heat transfer characteristics during both the charging and discharging periods. Experimental results show that the heat transfer characteristics are similar to those of metal one. So the conductive plastic ice-on-coil cannot only fulfil the demands of engineering applications, but also extends the service life because of its good anti-corrosiveness.
