Résumé

In this paper, experimental researches of the -70°C low-temperature freezer based on the conventional Joule-Thomson refrigeration cycle are carried out. A ternary mixture of hydrocarbons with low global warming potential R601a/R290/R1150 is selected as the working fluid of the freezer. In this paper, the effects of the charged concentration and the total charge on the operation characteristics during cool-down and stable operation processes are analysed in detail. The experimental results show that this refrigerant mixture has great application potential in Joule-Thomson refrigeration cycle. The low temperatures below -70°C and low compressor pressure ratios can be achieved with this refrigerant. The optimal concentration of R601a/R290/R1150 is 65%/15%/20%. The cooling rate is faster when the total charge is 300g. The final cabinet temperature is lower when the total charge is 250g, which can reach -78°C. This research could help to promote the development of low-temperature freezers and has significant practical value.
