Résumé

Temperatures lower than -80 °C are required in many applications, such as the storage of vaccines and biological specimens like blood plasma, tissues, etc. This temperature range is also required in several pharmaceutical and semiconductor applications. Single-stage Linde-Hampson refrigerators operating with zeotropic mixtures can be an alternative to complex multi-stage cascade refrigerators to achieve such low temperatures. The performance of the refrigerator strongly depends on the mixture components and their composition. This work evaluates the performance of a Linde-Hampson refrigerator operating with a mixture of R14, R23, and hydrocarbons. The mixture was tested experimentally in the Linde-Hampson refrigerator test stand, and its performance was evaluated at different heat loads. The refrigerator achieved the lowest temperature of -106.3 °C at no load and a maximum temperature of -93.5 °C at 80 W heat load. The results of the work are presented in this paper.
