Etude numérique des procédés de transfert de chaleur et de masse dans le stockage du gaz naturel par adsorption.

Numerical investigation of heat and mass transfer processes in adsorbed natural gas storage.

Résumé

Growth of petroleum consumption with reduction of its supplies and also ecological problems has been the reason for wide use of natural gas as a motor fuel. Natural gas consists primarily of methane (85-97%). The gas adsorbed in micropores of solid sorbent seems to be becoming an alternative to compressed gas storage. In this study, a new design for a transport cylinder for adsorbed natural gas storage is offered and numerically investigated. Obtained numerical data supported the point that the storage of natural gas in a cylinder filled with solid sorbent reduces operating pressure and improves gas capacity.
