Résumé

This paper presents the theoretical and experimental study of a two-phase flow ejector expansion device in a transcritical CO2 air-conditioning system. An ejector expansion transcritical CO2 air-conditioning system model was developed and validated using experimental results. Based on the ejector efficiencies reduced from the test results, empirical equations were obtained for the efficiencies of motive nozzle, suction nozzle and mixing section. Parametric studies using the validated simulation model show that the COP and cooling capacity increase as the ejector throat area increases in the range from 2.5 to 2.9 mm. In addition, the COP and cooling capacity reach maximum values at mixing section constant area diameters equal to 4.27, 4.155, and 4.1 mm at outdoor temperatures of 27.8, 32.2 and 37.8°C, respectively. Finally, it was found that the maximum COP and cooling capacity at high outdoor temperatures are higher than those at low outdoor temperatures.
