Résumé

The present paper designed an experimental prototype of an exhaust-heat-driven NH3/LiNO3 absorptio  refrigeration cycle (ARC) system, and experimental study has been carried out to evaluate the sub-zero performance of the system. This prototype is constructed by commonly used devices with the advantage of cost reduction and easy manufacture. Parameter profiles of the continuous cooling process as function of time were displayed. Characteristics on different operating conditions including exhaust-gas temperatures and cooling-water temperatures were parametrical analyzed. The results showed that the minimum evaporating temperature reached -35.4℃.The operating parameters including evaporating temperatures, cooling capacities and COPs were significantly influenced by the mentioned operating conditions. The present study provided significant references for sub-zero performance of ammonia/salt ARC systems, proving that NH3/LiNO3 ARC systems are potentially applied in exhaust-heat recovery for the purpose of freezing.
