Résumé

A scheme of a new plant for extraction and enrichment of heavy isotope 18(O) by method of low temperature rectification of molecular oxygen is presented. The plant is realized as an additional block of rectification being a part of a big industrial air separation plant (ASP). Efficient isotope extraction is carried out at pressure from 20 to 50 kPa and temperature of 80-85 K. Final concentration of product isotope 16(O)18(O) is 97 vol. pct from ambient 0.2 vol.%. In order to raise 18(O) concentration it is suggested to associate it with hydrogen and apply additional stage of H2 18(O) rectification. This method suggests such distinguishing features as low energy consumption and short duration of start-up company. A low temperature assembly consists of three stages and contains 7 rectification columns with spiral-prismatic random packing. The assembly is 30 m high with outside diameter of 1.6 m. The paper examined scientific and economical aspects of 18(O) extraction.
