Glass properties selection for core and shell high rise residential building in moderate climate.

Numéro : pap. n. 6

Auteurs : ALKHALIDI A., JARAD H., JUAIDY M., et al.

Résumé

The cooling and heating loads have been simulated for a building with variable glass-wall ratios using HAP4.5 (Hourly Analysis Program version 4.5 from Carrier Company). The ratios are 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% & 100% glass. The simulations were performed for the building in moderate (Amman, Jordan) climate. The glass properties combinations were noted by Combination Number (CN) which is the overall heat transfer & shading coefficient U value & S.C combination. Result show that if designer is interested in gaining LEED point focus should be on the heating load as it achieves the highest LEED points.
