Résumé

The report surveys current knowledge on global emissions of several halocarbons and presents scenarios for future emissions (up to 2100). The compounds studied are not regulated under the Montreal Protocol. These include HFCs, PFCs, FICs and sulfurhexafluoride and are mainly used as substitutes for CFCs, halons, R140a and HCFCs, which will be phased out when the Montreal Protocol to protect the ozone layer is implemented. Extract from the table of contents: compounds considered in the study; use of HFCs, PFCs and sulfurhexafluoride, general description (aerosols, cleaning, foam blowing, refrigeration and air conditioning, fire extinguishing); options for emission reduction; methods to estimate emissions; global emissions for the period 1986-2100.
