Résumé

The authors activated platelets using freezing/thawing and thrombin stimulation, then isolated and assayed the platelet microparticles formed. The data obtained demonstrate that the release of thrombin-induced platelet microparticles into circulation may improve blood coagulation and platelet aggregation induced by thrombin, ADP and epinephrine, leading to improved platelet cryopreservation. An optimal ratio between cryopreserved platelets and thrombin-induced microparticles could be prepared just before transfusion, resulting in more effective control of bleeding.
