Résumé

Technologies for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC&R) are at a cross-roads, conventional ones being substituted by new technologies, as the future energy supply and demand will have to make much greater use of new renewable energy sources and focus more upon energy-efficient methods in order to halt the depletion of natural resources and prevent climate change. Although new HVAC&R technology will not provide 100% free energy, it can provide savings of between 60 and 80% of the energy bill and around two tons of carbon dioxide per household or equivalent user of energy in business premises each year.
