Résumé

The Middle East, with countries such as Bahrain, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates, is a part of the world with above-average economic growth. For instance, in 2007 the region's income from oil and gas exports was approximately 400 billion US dollars. This economic boom is accompanied by continual population growth. This poses great challenges, not least for the food & beverage industry, as an ever-increasing number of people need to be supplied with food, of which there needs to be enough everywhere, and which needs to be fresh. To meet this demand, the industry is building new, high-capacity processing and distribution centres throughout the region.
