Mesures sur un compresseur biétagé au CO2.

Measurements on a two-stage CO2-compressor.

Résumé

Two-stage compression is advantageous for operation at low suction pressure in order to obtain improved efficiency and reduced compressor discharge temperatures. The paper presents experimental data from a prototype two-stage semi-hermetic compressor, working with CO2 and operating at 1450 RPM. Aspects focused on are: the influence of varying the 1st and 2nd stage suction gas inlet superheat, the effect of de-superheating the 2nd stage suction gas by gas throttled from high- to intermediate pressure and possible system design implications from these results. The effects of varying the compressor volume ratio between the 1st and 2nd stage and varying the suction and discharge plenum chambers volume have also been investigated. The occurrence and influence of resonance pressure pulses in the system are presented.
