Résumé

Hard competition among grocer’s stores has forced shops in rural areas to close, and decreased expenses on energy can increase a stores chance to survive. The aim of the project was to suggest energy saving measures for four grocer´s stores in the Stockholm archipelago. Both statistics and results from simulations indicate that the largest energy user in a grocer´s store is the refrigeration system, thus most of the measures were focused here. However, measures aimed at other areas were also suggested. The results show that the profit of the measures is highly dependent on factors such as the original energy usage, the expected rise of the electricity price and the design of the store. Results also display the necessity of subsidies to reduce long pay-back periods, and that there are several available options for saving energy, which will naturally be more profitable in stores with higher energy usage from start.
