Résumé

Prediction of the cargo temperature range based on design and operational factors is a prerequisite for a rational control of product temperatures in transit and for the interpretation of temperature monitoring data. A coefficient to the quotient heat load over air circulation can roughly characterize the space-cargo configuration. Heat generating cargoes need a more refined approach. Heat load over air circulation can serve as a quality criterion, appreciating the design of the conditioning system. Values for an apparent configuration coefficient are quoted for a number of systems. With appropriate precautions concerning in-package overtemperature of heat generating products, the approach appears to be valid for storage rooms, transport equipment, and display cabinets.
