Résumé

Warehouses for long-term storage of high-quality frozen seafood normally employ forced-draft cooling that may lower the weight and quality. To minimize these problems, the authors have developed a non-draft cold system that cools frozen foods by natural convection and radiation using panel heat exchangers. Preliminary experiments were conducted at Hitachi's Matsudo Research Laboratory, in which was determined the over-all heat transfer coefficient of panel, and also that defrosting using hot gas was satisfactory. The system was experimented in a newly constructed refrigerating warehouse (F-class). On-site measurements revealed favourable results.
