Nouvelle corrélation basée sur la programmation génétique pour l'efficacité de plateau dans la distillation binaire à gamme d'ébullition importante.

Genetic programming based new correlation for tray point efficiency in wide boiling range binary distillation.

Résumé

Point efficiency is the most important factor which enables simulations to provide better predictions of distillation behaviour, a phenomenon greatly appreciated in distillation column energy optimization studies. Commonly used efficiency evaluation schemes possess little accuracy and aren't recommended. The purpose of this study was to develop a new correlation for calculating tray point efficiency using genetic programming that has been based on a generalized model of mass transfer in a tray distillation column for 3 wide boiling systems. Affecting tray point efficiency's parameters were selected by reviewing the previous published literatures. The developed equation which is based on 47 out of the total 52 data sets was randomly used to develop the desired correlation and the rest used for error evaluations. Comparison with experimental data demonstrates that the new model as well capable of generating accurate tray point efficiency estimates within its validity range of less than 1.85% relative error.
