Numéro : pap. S14-P4

Auteurs : LARSSON K., ROLFSMAN L.

Résumé

This paper presents an examination of fourteen Swedish supermarkets to identify the annual cost for correcting failures of their refrigeration systems and to identify the most common and expensive failures. The costs were divided into direct and indirect costs, where direct costs were related to service companies and indirect to supermarkets man-hours, lost sale and destroyed foods. Direct costs were identified by service invoices and indirect by interviews with shop-owners. The most costly failures were located to problems and components within the refrigerant circuit itself. Troubles with compressors, stop in drains and defrosting problems in display cabinets were the most common failures. The cost for correcting failures of the refrigeration system of a supermarket was in average 18000 € a year. A supermarket has in general one visit of a service company every 12th day to correct failures of the refrigeration system.
