Prévision de la consommation d'énergie spécifique dans l'hémisphère sud.

Predicting specific energy consumption in the southern hemisphere.

Numéro : 0192

Auteurs : PEARSON A.

Résumé

Recent development work has identified ways in which the specific energy consumption (SEC) of a cold storage facility can be measured, tracked and predicted to provide useful information on energy cost reduction. This technique applies a seasonality adjustment to the daily energy use for the facility and therefore the model previously reported is only appropriate for use in the northern hemisphere.
This paper takes data for several sites in Australia and uses the same technique to develop an algorithm for prediction of SEC in the southern hemisphere. A case study is presented and the similarities and differences from north to south are explained. Some consideration is also given to how such a model might be adapted for use in tropical and equatorial regions. The paper concludes with some suggestions on ways to reduce the energy requirements of existing and new facilities.
