Résumé
Approximately 12 million tons of potatoes are harvested per year in Germany. Around 1.6 million tons are for processing, of which a quarter is for quick-frozen products. Thus the German industry supplies half of the potato specialties required for its own consumption. The other half comes from neighboring countries, first above all the Netherlands, which processes well over 2 million tons of fried potatoes per year.
