Résumé

Spherical-shaped LaFe(10.98)Co(0.92)Si(1.10)B(0.20) powder was prepared by a rotating disk atomization process. For comparison, ingot sample with thickness of 10 mm was prepared by mold-casting. Both the spherical-shaped powder and the ingot after heat treatment were composed of main phase with a NaZn13 crystal structure, along with La-rich phase and Fe-rich phase. Boron was observed only in the Fe-rich phase. With increasing of annealing time, the maximum values of magnetic entropy change under 0-2 T increased and saturated about 6.2 J/kgK for the spherical-shaped powder and the ingot. Spherical-shaped powder reached the maximum entropy change with shorter annealing time compared with ingot. This might be attributed to well-refined grain size induced by atomization process.
