Remplacement des frigorigènes dans le transport frigorifique : risques et opportunités.

Replacement of refrigerants in refrigerated transportation: risks and opportunities.

Numéro : 0921

Auteurs : BOSSUAT M., VALET O., CAVALIER G.

Résumé

Refrigerated transportation ensures that temperatures are controlled during the transport of sensitive products, such as food and health products. Vehicles are equipped with refrigeration systems to maintain an appropriate temperature level in the body containing the products to be transported.
Synthetic and halogenated refrigerants have been used in those systems for decades because of their thermodynamic performance and safety. But these refrigerants have an environmental impact. The current phase down of those refrigerants and then their substitution are likely to be accelerated by the recent proposals of revision of the European F-gas regulation.
The purpose of this study is to identify the constraints and risks linked to the substitution of the currently used HFC by refrigerants that could be long-term solutions in the refrigerated transportation, and to propose means to be implemented to reduce their criticality.
