Simulation de la performance transcritique d'un petit congélateur fonctionnant au dioxyde de carbone : étude de cas.

Simulation study of the transcritical performance of a small carbon dioxide refrigerator.

Résumé

This paper provides a study of a small unit refrigerator using carbon dioxide as the working fluid. This refrigerator can serve the domestic application of the cycle. A simulation system has been developed; the mathematical model is entirely based on the physical laws, heat transfer correlations and thermodynamic data from the latest carbon dioxide equation of state. The maximum COP occurred at a rejection pressure called optimal pressure. The effect of different design parameters on the optimal rejection pressure and performance were discussed. The simulated results shows that the choice of high-side pressure determines the cooling capacity and COP. The COP reaches a maximum value at a pressure which is mainly determined by the refrigerant temperature at the gas cooler outlet. Theoretical calculations indicate that the optimal rejection pressure will be in the order of 80-110 bar, for evaporation temperature up to 10 °C. The maximum COP for carbon dioxide refrigerator in domestic application will be less than 2.00.
