Système de pompe à chaleur à saturation pour des conditions climatiques froides.

A saturation heat pump system for cold climate conditions.

Résumé

The current state-of-the-art Heat Pump (HP) systems encounter significant challenges in maintaining capacity and efficiency in extremely low-temperature environments. To address these inefficiencies, this paper presents the design of an innovative saturation HP system that incorporates two-phase injection. This advanced saturation cycle mitigates energy losses typically incurred during superheated gas compression and isenthalpic expansion, thus moving closer to the theoretical Carnot efficiency. A high-efficiency cold climate heat pump (CCHP) system is theoretically modeled, and the performance is studied when employing various low-GWP and natural refrigerants. The results show that a two-stage cycle using propane can improve the heating COP by 60% at an ambient temperature of -25℃. The refrigerant injection quality required to meet this performance ranges between 0.7-0.9, depending on the operating conditions and injection stage. Furthermore, the saturation cycle can reduce the final superheat temperature difference by over 100°C, compared to a single-stage heat pump in cold climates.
