Systèmes en cascade à base de dioxyde de carbone pour les applications de thermofrigopompes.
Carbon dioxide based cascade systems for simultaneous refrigeration and heating applications.
Auteurs : SARKAR J., BHATTACHARYYA S., GOPAL M. R.
Résumé
Industries such as food processing, pharmaceutical, etc. require simultaneous refrigeration and heating. Ammonia and carbon dioxide in a single-stage system do not seem to offer an efficient solution for large temperature lifts, e.g. simultaneous refrigeration up to -50 °C and heating up to 100 °C. Cascade systems offer feasible solutions in such applications. In the paper, four system configurations have been analysed: single-stage NH3, single-stage CO2, a cascade system (NH3-CO2) with CO2 on the higher side and finally a cascade system with CO2 on the lower side. Detailed performance analysis in terms of both COP and exergetic efficiency has been carried out for simultaneous refrigeration up to -50 °C and heating of air or water up to 100 °C. As expected, the cascade systems show superior performance compared with the single stage-systems. It is also evident that an opportunity exists for the optimization of the intermediate temperature of cascade systems to maximize the COP.
