Résumé

In large-scale district heating systems (systems from several hundred of kilowatts up to several megawatts) there is always a need for continuous water treatment. Without water preparation, corrosion, limestone formation (scaling), slime, absorption and desorption of gases, organic chemical reactions occur in the heating water and on the walls of the pipelines. Additionally, for normal functioning of the primary side of the heating system, correct pressurization, water fill up, and provision of thermal expansion is necessary. In this paper, the existing solutions of these problems are analyzed, physical and chemical processes are described and the functioning of the system with adiabatic expansion is presented. At the end, the case study of the adiabatic expansion treatment of water, applied in district heating of Ainring (Germany) is presented.
