Applications dans les supermarchés : propriétés de divers frigoporteurs.

Properties of various secondary fluids for supermarket applications.

Auteurs : MELINDER Å.

Résumé

This paper gives a brief guideline on which of these aspects that may need special attention for various types of secondary fluids. It is equally important to have reliable thermophysical property data for choice of suitable fluid and for technical calculations of the system. A secondary fluid used in supermarket applications should have enough freezing security, good transport and heat transfer abilities and the viscosity should not be too high at the operating temperatures, as it determines the type of flow occurring and the pressure drop. This paper gives figures that compare various aqueous solutions and a few non-aqueous fluids as to volumetric heat capacity, viscosity, Reynolds number, heat transfer that affects temperature differences in heat exchangers as well as the friction factor that determines the pumping power needed. The figures also indicate how the type of flow influences these properties. For cooling applications, salt solutions may give non-laminar flow while for freezers only non-aqueous fluids give turbulent flow.
